Sauska 48`s restaurant manager originally planned to become an architect; his student years were shaped by mathematics, chess, and sports. Along the way, however, he discovered a passion for hospitality. Summer shifts behind the bar in Pécs laid the foundation: this is where he realized how much he enjoys working with people, and how naturally he handles pressure and responsibility. He later earned a mixology certificate and a professional qualification, and he now aims to complete his studies in Business and Management at the University of Szeged.

His love for Baranya runs deep. Born in Szigetvár and now living in nearby Márok, he has never been drawn to the stress of big‑city life. His sense of balance comes from his family — his wife and two sons — and from the joy of working in the Villány wine region.

Books mean a great deal to him; his lifelong favourites include „Catch‑22” and „To Kill a Mockingbird”. In the contemporary Hungarian cuisine of Sauska 48, he especially appreciates the exciting Asian‑Caribbean touches. He enjoys pairing his favourite dishes with full‑bodied red wines, though recently our single‑vineyard Furmints have opened his eyes to the beauty of dry Tokaj wines as well.

Máté comes from the Swabian settlement of Hercegkút. Traditions and family traditions played a very important role in his life. Since everyone in his family was involved in grape growing and winemaking, after completing his secondary school studies in Sárospatak, there was no question that he would want to continue in this direction.

He graduated from Szent István University as a viticultural and oenological engineer and then got an internship at the largest winery of the region. He became a member of the Sauska team in 2019: he feels very much at home with the company’s innovative vision, future-oriented plans, and energy. The proximity to nature and the unique character of the Tokaj vineyards are an inexhaustible source of joy for him, and he experiences his work in nature as the greatest freedom and luck that a person can have.

Head of Sales. He completed his higher education at Szolnok College and Szent István University, among others. With a career in the wine industry dating back to 2004, he has specialized in trade and communication. As a marketing and purchasing manager, he has partnered with Sauska wineries from the outset, and since spring 2025, he has been an official member of the team. In his free time, he enjoys hiking—particularly in the wine country —and is the proud father of two sons.

Sommelier, brand ambassador of Sauska, host of our wine programs. Few people talk about our wines more passionately than him, everything becomes understandable when he tells stories, from viticultural work to winemaking processes. The child of Colombian-Hungarian parents, he returned home as an adult and learned Hungarian. He is also trained as a chef, which can be seen in his excellent wine-food pairings.

In 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 he became the Hungarian Sommelier Champion and Sommelier of the Year, and in 2023 he won the Polish Sommelier Championship.

Born in Dunaújváros, Makó brought his innate love of nature and agricultural work to all that he does.
Having graduated from college and spent valuable time traveling all around the world, working in far flung places such as California, New Zealand and Tokaj. He joined our team only years later, during the 2018 harvest where his systems approach and team-level thinking excelled.
He passionately loves his work, and his attachment to his favorite region is personal.

Considering it important to pay attention to balance in all areas, not only to cultivate beautiful grapes, but to go beyond to the entire region – the forest islands and fauna -that all remains intact and healthy.

A tokaji birtok gazdája 2009 óta. Gyöngyösön végzett, dolgozott több hazai borászatban és az Egyesült Államokban. Remek együtt gondolkozni vele borról és pezsgőről, mert elmélyült és precíz, ugyanakkor kíváncsi természetű és hibátlan ízlésű. Kalandvágya nem csak szakmai téren hatalmas, biciklin és a hegyekben is otthon érzi magát. Nagyszerű fotós, szeretünk tőle képeslapokat kapni a dűlőkről, pincemunkáról, természetről.

Head of Export and Corporate Sales, Daniel originally majored in history but began his hospitality career at a young age, gaining experience both in Hungary and internationally.

We got to know him as part of the opening team at Nobu Restaurant Budapest. A wonderful cook, his enthusiasm, professionalism, and dynamism captivate everyone around him.

He has been playing an instrumental role in the development of the Sauska sparkling wine portfolio. Daniel is proud to call Champagne Chef de Cave legend and Sauska consultant Régis Camus his paternal friend.

Since he is constantly on the go, he rarely allows himself a drink. But when he does, there must be bubbles in it.
