Sauska Rosé Extra Brut Vintage 2015
Tokaj 2015
Red onion peel - pink with dynamic bubbles. Intense aromas of red berries, pronounced Tokaj-minerality in character. On the palate, classy rosé notes of rosehip, spring cherry, white tea, and dogwood. A full-figured, lovely, hedonistic sparkling wine.

Vineyards
Grapes 100% harvested from Tokaj vineyards owned by the winery, mainly from Medve-, Birsalmás, Úrágya and Istenhegy vineyards, as well as from the uniquely chalky Padihegy.
Winemaking
Grapes harvested by hand, whole cluster-pressed at the winery.
Primary fermentation in Tokaj.
Selection and blending takes place in our cellar in Budafok, with the addition of reserves for desired harmony and balance.
From the second fermentation phase, the bottles are matured in a traditional limestone sparkling cellar at a constant temperature of 12 -16 °, with steady high relative humidity of 80-82% throughout the year.
Our sparkling wine is matured in bottles for more than 48 months.
Dosage: 5 gr/l.
The Year
After a harsh winter and cold spring mid-April, bud-break was a relief. We got just enough (35-50 mm) rain to get the plants energized. The end of May was beautiful with a gradual warmup, an optimal temperature at blooming that resulted in perfect binding. The temperature remained very high until mid-September with peaks of 39 °C. The heat did not bring any rain causing serious slow-down in the growing process. Grapes for dry wines stayed healthy with slightly lower acidity than normal in Tokaj due to the August heat.
