The Year
In general, we had a very dry year in Tokaj. After an ideal bud-breaking period bunches developed nicely in June and July. To maintain acidity, we decided to keep more leaves on for shadow. August started with brutal heat waves speeding up ripening. We had to start harvest by the end of the months (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc) finishing up with the indigenous grapes (Furmint, Yellow Muscat, and Hárslevelű) in mid-October.
