Tokaji Aszú 6 Puttonyos

Tokaj 2013

“This wine is really is off the charts with its pulsating aromas and flavours! The beautiful nose has pronounced notes of tangerine and other citrus fruit that herald a wine crackling with energy. The palate is hugely sweet, silky and extremely concentrated with gorgeous notes of nuts, apples and dried apricots. Its prodigious spicy length and balance make it a hedonistic pleasure to drink right now.”

The Year

Winter was long and cold to the extremes, with the lowest temperature of -20 ºC (-4 F) several times. The cold pushed the bud break to the second half of April and prolonged blooming. Tropical summer followed with very little rain. Harvest started early October (Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc) giving enough time for Furmint and Hárslevelű to ripe slow and evenly which resulted awesome acid-sugar balance by October. After the last few vintages poor in botrytis we had the pleasure of harvesting some great quality Aszú. We are thrilled to be able to make sweet wine again!
