Velvety warm pink with sparkling raspberry hues. The nose is creamy and wonderfully fruity, the wine`s rich, seamless palate is weighty and creamy with notes of wild strawberry and juicy preserved plum. Notes of brioche coupled with natural acidity and minerals complete the mouth eel and lead to the balanced, long finish.

Vineyards

 

Vineyards: Sárospatak: Királyhegy/Megyer, Mád: Birsalmás-vineyard, Rátka: Középhegy, Padihegy, Istenhegy. Bodrogkeresztúr: Medve-vineyard.

Planted: mostly in the 70`s, except the young Birsalmás-vineyard.

 

Winemaking

 

Early harvest to ensure optimal alcohol – acid balance. Immediate low-pressure compress. Fermented in stainless steel tanks on 16,5-18 °C. Completely unoaked.

Aged for 55 months in the bottle.

Assemblage: a blend with 5% of Pinot Noir

Dosage: 5 gr/l

 

The Year

Winter was long and cold to the extremes, with the lowest temperature of -20 ºC (-4 F) several times. The cold pushed the bud break to the second half of April and prolonged blooming. Tropical summer followed with very little rain. Harvest started early October (Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc) giving enough time for Furmint and Hárslevelű to ripe slow and evenly which resulted awesome acid-sugar balance by October. After the last few vintages poor in botrytis we had the pleasure of harvesting some great quality Aszú. We are thrilled to be able to make sweet wine again!
